victoria hagan interior portraits.......i now own it

i blogged the other day about some books i am wanting to add to my collection. One being victoria hagan's interior portraits. it retails around the net in aud for about $67. i picked up a copy yesterday at highfields (outside toowoomba) believe it or not. in a cute little shop named simple things, small joys. turns out they have a blog simplethingssmalljoys.blogspot.com. i don't know why the shop assistant/owner didn't mention the shop's blog to me as i mentioned i had seen the book on a blog.

i picked up victoria hagan's book for $49. great buy. thank you!

next time i get to highfields i will have to have more of a look around this little shops tucked back from the road. the simple things, small joys shop is in abbie lane, a little set of boutique country style shops off the new england hwy, opposite the church.

some icing on my christmas wishlist

i guarantee that if i want any of these, i will be buying them myself.

i was in new farm in brisbane yesterday and drove past the chelsea de luca shop. this little boutique shop not only has the most amazing distressed black timber floors, but heaps and heaps of stunning mouth-watering jewelery.

the jewelery has been warn by beyonce, rose byrne, gwyneth paltrow and many more beauties. the style is old world charm. very much like the 1920's - 1940's. some pieces a little art deco.

the label is described "The label was born out of a strong belief that accessories maketh the outfit and costume jewelery gives individuality to any style. The bigger and bolder the better."

a visit to their website is a must. you can also shop online.  www.chelseadeluca.com.au

if any males read this blog before christmas, if you don't buy your wife a piece, she has the right to burn all your sporting memorabilia! fair compromise.

i saw some of these images posted on www.redglassesblog.com and they were so captivating. perhaps the red is to blame for that. so i jumped over to the scarp agent website to check out more. below are some of my favorites. looks like these were all styled by tina hellberg for elle interior. photos by stellan herner. i will be back there this afternoon finding more inspiration. check it out! you can't go past glossy white floors teamed with a splash of red and yellow.

vincente wolf's loft

my all time favourite...glossy white floors, black and white pictures and open space. pity my queenslander cottage will never resemble this as it is tiny, but i can always dream. perhaps my next home should be some random industrial or old commercial building in spring hill or surrounds. they are a little costly though!

the below images are of designer vincente wolf's loft apartment. there is a great article about the residence on david patrick columbia's new york social diary.

have a good weekend! rebecca geldard - ray white real estate - brisbane, queensland, australia

what a clever idea for painted timber floors!

i would have never thought of painting the floors or staining the floors a few different colours yet i really like it. picture from marie claire maison perhaps a tudor oak, rich mahogany and then white painted. my boards run the wrong direction yet i could still try it??

the article described this picture as: In this parlor, the architect played color contrasts coming from his range.  "Black radish", "Hot Pepper" and "Jasmine", deep colors that mix with and oppose themselves to geometry and the whiteness of the framework and ceilings.  A line horizontal and vertical game with cushions of ground in braided wool created by Sarah Lavoine, a simple one feasts (Caravan) and softens also with lanterns in wicker (Honored).
