on the birthday wishlist

all i want for my birthday is every eames chair ever designed. the originals, not replicas. i don't ask for much. i'm content with the simple things.

lets just start with the La Chaise by Charles and Ray Eames from 1948

joseph eichler american mid century modern homes

whilst google surfing, i came across a real estate agency site in america which has some really great ideas for blogging about real estate, however, what was even better, was the mention of eichler homes. i had no idea what this was referring too, yet i assumed an architect of mid century modern style homes based on the images that were also on the page. upon googling, this is what i found. stunning mid century modern homes. not so many flat roofs, pitched instead with a lot of floor-to-ceiling windows and interior atriums.but still 100% to my liking. give me more!

turns out joseph eichler was a post-war merchant builder who built about 11,000 homes from the 1940s through to the 1960s in northern california.

the above picture is of eichler fairbrae community center, in sunnyvale dated 1962, which i found on a website called michaeljohnparker.com

more of my favourite home. still...after all these years.

i've always struggled to find much out about this house since i saw it in a vogue living magazine in the mid 2000s. when i search google to find out more, i land back on my blog! quite funny really.

i do know it was designed by 24 year old natalie raw, who is obviously not 24 years old now. according to google, she now works for architecture firm hulena architects limited.

more photos can been seen on the pavilions website here

gifts for my real estate clients.... buyers and sellers

my ray white peregian beach office on david low way, peregian beach, on the way to noosa heads has the most stunning florist shop right next door. kristy opened the shop some months ago, and despite my initial thoughts that no business could survive for very long in a small 30m2 (a guess) space. i've been proven wrong. kristy's business is bustling with a devoted following.

amongst that following is myself and my colleagues. whether it be our receptionist buying a present for a family member, our office buying a bunch of flowers for a staff member or an asian inspired orchid arrangement as a gift for a buyer or seller upon the successful sale or purchase of their property.

for what ever occasion.... the ray white team are converts.

drop in and visit kristy at the white magnolia on david low way, peregian beach.

p.s. how adorable are theres orchids. not sure if you can get these in australia.

a splash of colour never hurts... but it is bold!

some days you just need a splash of colour. something a little brighter. there is no chance of a 'bad mood' waking up to this!

this home could be yours.....sunrise road, doonan on the northern sunshine coast of queensland

i have been so busy with work since i moved from brisbane to the noosa on the sunshine coast in january to run three ray white real estate offices. one great thing about being a real estate agent is the homes you get to see! some are just like every other home, some have some cool features and some just make you so jealous that you are the agent, not the buyer.

the perfect example is this home at 198 sunrise road doonan which my partner is marketing with my assistance. the home goes to auction in september 2012. call either john stamp from ray white noosa hastings street on 0423 042 787 or myself, rebecca geldard, on 0409 721 671 for inspections. serious buyers only please. lookers welcome at the open homes.

what a home. take a look:

and the fun begins

i usually take on a little too much yet perhaps this time i have gone insane. not only have i moved to the sunshine coast to run three real estate offices......i'm also doing the renovations i have been meaning to do for years so that i can rent the house out....only to a friend though!  god forbit a stranger be allowed to touch my gardens.
the kitchen will now be the 2nd bedroom, and the second bedroom will now be the kitchen. oh and i'm doing the bathroom as well. now that was fun. i'm good at distruction, just not so good at completing construction.

so the first dilema. i have to move a window. i can't have the gas cooktop directly underneath the window. i'm thinking of doing a higher long narrow window now which will also give me more privacy, considering that wall faces the street.

where else to look for ideas then my favorite website showing work of owen and vokes architects. i've sold property for paul owen before and now i hear that one of his creations might be coming on the market. if only it was at noosa.
