island luxe featuring lee brennan designs, at bangalow near byron bay

On the way back from Byron this weekend I made a detour through bangalow to drop into island luxe, a beautiful homewares and fashion store. most of their precious treasures are out of my current budget but i did see this beautiful bed which was made by lee brennan designs. i could make something very similar with timber from mums farm yet i doubt i will get around to it! i have been bed shopping lately and haven't been able to find anything i like. now i have! you must check out his latest lookbook

the following images below are from various blogs, yet all of the internal of island luxe.

bedroom interior thoughts

i went off the idea of using the timber crates which are under tiles and other things which are lifted with a forklift yet i think after a weekend of shopping for a new bed, i'm back to the old idea. it is really hard to find a bed which is low too the ground and in a look that won't set a president for the rest of the furniture colour in my home.  i absolutely adore the bedroom picture below. if only i could wake up in that bed!

favourite bed look for the moment

i think i saw this image on the cover of one of the elle decoration issues. i haven't managed to find the issue again to buy it. i have had my bed on the floor for about 2 years now whilst i have contemplated what do do about bedroom furniture. it has been quite low on my list so i only contemplate every few months. after seeing this image, i bought some fabric at the magnolia interiors sale about a week or so ago. i bought a lovely warm blue which is deeper than a pastel blue, and also a big chunk of pink leather. the two colours compliment each other nicely so i might have some fun with some timber, foam and a staple gun in the coming weeks.

wellbeing....i think i need this

whilst on a flight back to brisbane from arec (australasian real estate convention) i spent some quality time with my favourite past time…..magazines. country living and instyle. i was bewitched by a picture of the suite ile aux oiseaux at les sources de caudalie near bordeaux designed by maison martin margiela. no wonder why….its stunning. we spend so much of our life sleeping, why not make the last image you see at night and the first image you seen in the morning inspirational and one which is able to capture your best thoughts through visual stimulation. it’s the same process as playing a song which makes you feel your best whilst driving to work. create the same sensation with your eyes. my bedroom is getting a serious overhaul shortly with this thought in mind. but what to do?

windows or shutters

i was drifting around the mycostalhome blog and found the following pictures, which are originally from Myhomeideas. im keen on the shutters in the bedroom and the bed base, as at the moment my king size matress sits on the floor....and has for about 2 years. i don't mind it being that low to be honest.
