victoria hagan interior portraits.......i now own it

i blogged the other day about some books i am wanting to add to my collection. One being victoria hagan's interior portraits. it retails around the net in aud for about $67. i picked up a copy yesterday at highfields (outside toowoomba) believe it or not. in a cute little shop named simple things, small joys. turns out they have a blog simplethingssmalljoys.blogspot.com. i don't know why the shop assistant/owner didn't mention the shop's blog to me as i mentioned i had seen the book on a blog.

i picked up victoria hagan's book for $49. great buy. thank you!

next time i get to highfields i will have to have more of a look around this little shops tucked back from the road. the simple things, small joys shop is in abbie lane, a little set of boutique country style shops off the new england hwy, opposite the church.

it is only $69.95 at fishpond.com.au yet retails for $99.99. free delivery as well.

for something a little cheaper, you can't go past lighthouse candles. my favorite sent is the coconut lime. i actually don't like the smell of coconut and it doesn't really smell like coconut.

magestic metropolitan living on poshglam.com

i was reading belle australia aug/sept issue tonight, which i accidentally bought twice as i didn't read the cover, and again fell in love with a few features in the home of sue hostetler who is the author of majestic metropolitan living. so i googled to find a picture of the commercial looking steel framed glass wall & doors which separates her lounge room from the dining room. i love combining old and new in similar fashion. it is hard to work out how to make this look fit without it looking forced or just ugly and uncomplimentary.

i found a heap of the pictures of her home as well as a lot of others which i rate at dluximages.com

buying books.....megan morton

i have been rummaging through the books at folio bookshop in brisbane city, and can't find anything really exciting to buy in the interior design section. i kept seeing the book titled home love: 100 inspiring ideas for creating beautiful roomsby megan morton

so when last in paddington i raced into the old mary ryans bookstore which is now titled something about a cat? and grabbed a copy. took me awhile to find though, and it was the last one. i highly recommend it. i felt like painting and decorating after having a quick flip. any book that can inspire me to continue with my half started painting jobs etc is worth its weight in gold. highly recommmend it.

book published by penguin

and megan morton has a blog. i'm excited

below are some pictures from an article on megan from the design files

all images from the websites listed above, which are hyperlinked
