tiles, toilets and tapware

i've finally decided on tapware and a toilet and i also think, tiles. i'm not 100% certain on what i want tiling wise with what i have found, but i'm sure after i've slept on it, i'll have a decision.

a friend refered me to the tile mob at mitchelton. what a gold mine of tiles that place is! i had no idea it even existed. they have a brilliant range for anyone who likes subway tiles or a art deco look with some very original looking deco feature tiles. highly recommend them!

they are all too big! where can i get my hands on smaller subway tiles

it is so frustrating not being able to find the tiles i'm after. all i want is smaller subway tiles, say 60 x 120 or 60 x 240. instead i can only find really small, or 100 x 200 or 100 x 300 or 400 or tiles in off white. it shouldn't be so hard! any of the 100s are just to big and too modern. i don't want modern....i want character. 

frustrated.

or perhaps this for the flooring or walls?

black and white bathroom theme perhaps?

i'm just about to do my bathroom and i'm been hunting firstly for a toilet suite to go with my antique pedestal basin and taps. damn they are expensive. particulary when you want art deco style. but i am not prepared to compromise. i might have to order them for the uk as there isn't much of a variety in australia, but in the meantime, i should decide on my tiling. i still really really really want marble tiles, in a subway cut, yet, the more cost effective solution is plain white subway tiles. perhaps i should go for a black and white theme??

Baden Baden from Haute Design

i saw this bathroom on another blog and traced it back through one blog to the next to the next to finally find its origin at haute design. the design is by by baden baden, located in belgium. i'm not the hugest fan on the blue yet i am on the taps. perfect taps for what i need for my antique cast iron vanity basin.

a bit of silver, one big mirror, some marble and then just add water

if only budget wasn't an issue; i'd have floor to ceiling carrara marble tiles, a huge mirror and a silvery tub. in fact, just give me the bathroom in the last picture. i'm sold. i'll start saving tomorrow.

bathroom and marble love

its a given. there is going to be marble in my bathroom and kitchen. i'm just finalizing the layout and deciding on floor tiles for the bathroom, or i might just keep the floors in timber, white painted of course. bathrooms and kitchens have to be very practical and functional, they can also be the nicest rooms in a home. so why not splash out with some marble i say!

subway tiles...in white

subway tiles have always been a favorite for a period queenslander cottage. my current dilemma is what height to take them too in the bathroom though? ceiling or shower height?

and for the kitchen, i love love love them laid diagonally. little challenging though. i'm going shopping for tiles this weekend!

i'm definitely having shelves above my kitchen cabinets such as this. better work out the brackets before i tile though. didn't think of that. oops!

i'm going to have a tiled shower tray rather than a shower over bath. i do like the seamless glass shower screen and i also like the little shelf above the pedestal basin.
