I am planning, eventually, to create a bit of a haven in my rear yard. My house doesn't have a deck or any external living areas at the moment, and I don't want to add a deck onto the house at this stage, as it is not going to increase the resale enough. A two bedroom house with a deck compared to a two bedroom house without a deck attracts the same buyers, particulary in my location. Not that I am thinking about selling, but you have to think long term anyhow. I am really keen on small white pebbles rather than paving at the moment.
