mirror mirror, i need a bathroom mirror!

i popped into reflect mirrors on lutwyche road at windsor on the weekend to check out not only their sale items, but also a mirror more specifically for my bathroom. i need something to go above the vanity with lights on either side. love love love the two below. they are my picks to date.

and then i saw this stunning huge wall mirror, and it had a sold sticker on it with the name paul owen. it can only be paul owen the architect. damn, loved that one!

where meg lives

sarah jessica parker, claire forlani and meg ryan all have something in common. absolutely stunning houses that i could ever only dream to live in. below are some of my favourite pictures of meg's house. i like the industrial rollers on the room dividing door and open shelved kitchen. i just want to eat cheese and quince paste on crackers and drink wine in that kitchen. yum.

a bit of silver, one big mirror, some marble and then just add water

if only budget wasn't an issue; i'd have floor to ceiling carrara marble tiles, a huge mirror and a silvery tub. in fact, just give me the bathroom in the last picture. i'm sold. i'll start saving tomorrow.

i'm lost for words with daun curry's work

there is something so exciting about stumbling across a interiors designer who's work you just adore.

all images above are from daun curry's website under the residential project suffern estate.

daun even has a blog which i'm now watching

bathroom and marble love

its a given. there is going to be marble in my bathroom and kitchen. i'm just finalizing the layout and deciding on floor tiles for the bathroom, or i might just keep the floors in timber, white painted of course. bathrooms and kitchens have to be very practical and functional, they can also be the nicest rooms in a home. so why not splash out with some marble i say!

happy queens birthday

my form of therapy.....hitting the weatherboards with a gas torch and paint scraper

i might need therapy for my form of therapy, yet there is something about removing old paint which makes me feel good. it is an accomplishment of sorts. i've finally found the right angle with the gas torch and the paint scrapper and am going at a record pace now. i only have the rest of the the exterior to go (i'm about 1/100th of the way through). wish me luck!
