and perhaps this is just the inspiration i needed. i really need to get back out with a paintbrush and the antique white usa. however, i did paint a few chairs this week. about time too, i started them about 16 months ago! perhaps i should also get out the chainsaw and make a coffee table such as this one?

You may also look in to analine dyes for wooden floors. This is a dye, rather than a paint, and it therefore provides a beautiful translucent quality. Wade Garrett makes a wonderful line with many rich and vibrant colors. You will find that you need fewer coats--one or two will do, but you will have to add a polyurethane finish. This is a great solution for floors with imperfections and discoloration. The color saturates but does not completely hide the wood.
