They retail from $3495 each, yet I am sure I can jimmy up something simular on a weekend. Add it to the list of 'things I want to do', yet reality says it will end up on the list 'I started, and not finished'.

Could look really funky in my back yard. or even front. Too many ideas, no time to make them a reality.

more frames

I don't think you can have too many frames. My issue is finding good pictures to fill them. My girlfriend has the In Vogue 50 Years book sitting on her coffee table. Perhaps if I buy two copies, and cut one up? It will be more cost effective then buying prints.

dilemma fix...decorative window security

I can't go past an eBay bargain. It is very dangerous as every little spend amounts on my credit card.


I couldn't let this opportunity go though. I have just bought the above 15 decorative cast iron panels from someone near Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast. I paid a total of $92.55 which I think is an absolute bargain. If these were for sale at The Little Red Shed, a 2nd hand renovation shop and yard, then I am sure they would be about $50 each.


So this is my theory; using the cast iron panels as window security. They are as wide as my windows, yet about 50cm short in height. Yet if I place them in the middle, only a very small child could squeeze through to break in, and I'm am sure they would decide it is in the too hard basket. Below are some examples I managed to find of cast iron panels used in similar applications.

dilemma... i need security on my windows

 

  

 

 

The old 1920s bar on Queenslanders are horrid. Grill mesh is just as ugly. And with windows which latch and open outwards, there isn't a lot of traditional options. So my thought process is metal, allumium, laser cut steel. I found this interesting website providing a few more 'out of the box' ideas for me to ponder on.
